About KALI
Preamble
Many who fall within the KALI target area will find themselves in constant liminal space. Non-Korean language speaking “EM Pastors” are as lost in their Korean Language Presbyteries as they are in the predominantly Anglo spaces across the PCA. We want these events to be an intentional space for Korean-American pastors and leaders (including elders and women in ministry) in the PCA. We understand that we need a space where we can be with people who look like us and learn from people who look like us. We are a majority-minority group that seeks to resolve the challenges and leverage the strengths of the Korean-American church.
Vision
Our vision is to cultivate servant-leaders (pastors, elders, and women in ministry) from the Korean-American community who actively engage with and serve the Presbyterian Church in America.
Mission
Promote networking and fellowship.
Encourage ministers and their families for spiritual vitality and longevity in ministry.
Provide culturally contextualized leadership development and ministry training.
Equip ministers for church planting and church revitalization.
Core Values
Spiritually Vital (Life-Giving & Restful): We want time with God (worship) and time with each other (fellowship) to be fun, enjoyable, life-giving, and restful.
Multi-Generational: We want to maintain good relationships with Korean-speaking pastors, while also supporting and empowering second and third generation Korean-American pastors, elders, and women in ministry.
Relational: We understand that we need friendships and connection to survive and thrive in ministry. We want to be about relationships, friendships, and interaction at both the regional and national levels. We want relationships to be collaborative, not competitive.
